Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has shattered peace and stability in Europe and brought violence and destruction to a peace-loving and democratic nation.
The United Kingdom and its allies stand firm with Ukraine as tyranny once again threatens Europe. I fully support the sanctions issued by the Government, which are designed to choke the Russian economy and isolate its government. Putin must end this senseless and barbaric war.
We will continue working closely with our allies to apply the maximum level of pressure to isolate Russia and force Putin to choose the path of peace. The innocent Ukrainian people have fought and will continue to fight heroically to defend their homeland. They are in my thoughts and will continue to have my full support.
