Chris Clarkson MP for Heywood and Middleton - 16/06/2020

Today I asked the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) what steps his department is taking to support businesses facing insolvency.

I am pleased that the Corporate Insolvency and Governance Bill includes measures to help businesses keep trading and that the three permanent changes to the framework may result in net benefits to business of over £1.9bn.

This is a very important bill that will provide vital safeguards for businesses during coronavirus, not just in Heywood and Middleton constituency, but the wider country too.
