Great to meet with the Leader of the House earlier this week to honour the Royal Navy and the West Africa Squadron, which helped to end slavery.
The Squadron freed 150,000 men, women and children with a fleet of 36 Royal Navy ships between 1808-1867. There is a proposed monument to be built to honour the West Africa Squadron and its work to end slavery.
